Emmaus Colchester is supporting The Choose Communities: #BuySocial campaign this week, which focuses on the work of social enterprises. Run by Social Enterprise UK, it takes place between Thursday 15 and Saturday 17 October 2020.
On Saturday, the campaign will focus on retail social enterprises, such as Emmaus Colchester, who will be joining the campaign.
Retail Manager Gemma Aylesbury said: “Using your spending power for good makes a real difference to our community. When you shop with us the money you spend funds tailored support, long-term accommodation and training for people who have experienced homelessness, giving them the time, space and support they need to rebuild their lives.”
You can see the difference it makes by popping into one of our shops. The people we support, known as our companions, work in our community enterprise and help to keep our charity going, while gaining new skills in the process.
While supporting Emmaus Colchester, through donating items or purchasing from our shops, you’re also supporting the environment. Visit one of our shops to find unique, preloved pieces for your home.
