Emmaus Cambridge Chief Executive, Diane Docherty, has been highly commended at the annual Institute of Directors (IoD) East of England Director of the Year Awards 2019.

Entered by business leaders, entrepreneurs, government and media representatives, the awards recognise the leadership talent and success of directors from diverse regional businesses.

Diane received her commendation alongside 10 other business leaders and seven other runners-up who were all honoured at the celebratory lunch on Friday 14th June 2019 at the Jockey Club Rooms in Newmarket.

Announced as Director of the Year was Karen Livingstone of SBRI Healthcare, who won the Public Sector Director of the Year Category, which recognised good public governance, including solid planning, efficiency, transparency, and accountability.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, IoD East of England Regional Director, Simone Robinson said:

“We refer to the East of England region as the ‘Enterprising East’ as it is an area recognised for business start-up and scale-up. Once again the judges were overwhelmed by the professionalism, passion and dedication of all of the IoD Director of the Year finalists. They are all shining lights for the Enterprising East and we hope that they will continue to develop their leadership skills via the IoD’s professional development courses as better directors in turn leads to a better economy.”
