Arriving at work one morning to find almost everyone running around trying to find the escaped ferret. (He was returned safe and well the day after by a close neighbour of the community)
What is your favourite section of the shop/Community?
The Dining Room, where the magic happens
What does solidarity mean to you?
Solidarity is an everyday way of life, being kind to others making people’s lives easier and for me, it is what Emmaus is all about

What does a typical day at Emmaus Cambridge involve for you?
In the 12 years of being at Emmaus, I have not had a typical day, but every day involves a huge amount of talking to people which I love
What food can you not resist?
Sausages and tomato gravy (mums recipe)
What is the strangest item in the shop that you have come across?
A Collection of original samurai swords. Found in my office after a fortnight off
What do you feel most grateful for?
My amazing daughter
What’s the one thing you’ve always wanted to do in your life, if you’ve done it how did it make you feel and if not then why not?
Visit the orient, never managed to be able to take enough time off work to do it justice
What has been your greatest accomplishment so far?
Becoming CEO of Emmaus and motherhood
What do you value most in a friendship?
Equality
How do you feel about your friendship with fellow staff/ trustees at Emmaus Cambridge?
I think that Emmaus has a good relationship with the local community, we a local employer and support the wider community really well

Watching live bands

Elephant
After lockdown what do you hope to have learnt about yourself that maybe you were not aware of before?
Working from home does not mean cleaning the house

Describe what Emmaus Cambridge means to you?
Working at Emmaus is a real privilege for me, keeping me real and making me grateful for all I have every day. Often the people who come to Emmaus have had a really rough time and when Emmaus works for people and you get to see them trust again, change and grow is gives me huge joy.
