I’d say to anyone who is struggling, anyone who wants to turn their life around, Emmaus is the place to do it
"At Emmaus, everything has just fallen in to place."
"One of the biggest highlights working at Emmaus Cambridge in Joan’s Coffee Shop is the companions."
"Emmaus has helped me to reignite my passion for life and has given me the opportunity to help others."
Emmaus has given me so much help since I have been here, and I hope to be here for the foreseeable future.
I settled into Emmaus Cambridge quickly. My job involves photographing donations and writing the draft descriptions for the eBay listings. I then do the packing when things are sold
Since being in Emmaus communities I have always been looking for somewhere to call home, I believe I have found this at Emmaus Cambridge.
We're always looking for new Emmaus volunteers to give their time to support our community.
Emmaus supports people to work their way out of homelessness, you can help by making a donation today.
We offer people who have experienced homelessness a place to call home for as long as they need it and meaningful work in our social enterprise. Living in a stable environment with the opportunity to gain new skills helps our companions to regain any lost self-esteem and confidence so they can get back on their feet.
Joan’s Coffee Shop serves delicious food, including cooked breakfasts, lunches, cakes, scones and more. We are dog friendly, and have kid’s, vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options available.
Food is served from:
Wednesday – Sunday: 10:00 – 15:00
Our Landbeach shop is key to the success of our community. Not only does it generate income to maintain our community home, but it gives the people we support with the opportunity to learn new skills and gain valuable work experience.
Gary, Emmaus Cambridge companion.
“Emmaus saved me, and it wasn’t until I received their help that I felt like I could carry on living.”
