This role is new to Emmaus Burnley and you will be responsible for delivering our Free Masons funded street homeless outreach project, “Free Streets”.
Free Streets will provide Covid safety items, basic hygiene, clothing items and advice and guidance to street homeless people across major towns in the County Palatine of Lancashire. The Project will target new and entrenched rough sleepers and focus on proactive signposting, assisting direct access accommodation options, health interventions, and liaising with agencies that support welfare needs. Working alongside the vital homelessness network across the old County Palatine of Lancashire this role is pivotal in linking the most marginalised rough sleepers into external agencies, accommodation and Emmaus where possible. This role involves supporting volunteers including local Free Masons, Emmaus Companions and a wide range of suitable external volunteers to become effective outreach workers.

Reports to: Head Of Support
Liaise with: Local Authorities Housing needs, Neighborhood policing; Street Pastors; local homeless projects to the specific areas reached
Location: Emmaus Burnley but covering the major towns on a schedule of the County Palatine of Lancashire each night
Working Week: Tuesday – Saturday 5pm – 2am
Salary: £21,000 per annum
