Donate Quality Goods: Phone 0117 954 0886 to book your time slot.
We can also collect from Bristol and the surrounding areas, such as Yate, Clevedon and Chew Magna up to a distance of approx 15 miles from our shops.
We sell pre-loved donated treasures, clothes, books and furniture in our shops and online. The income generated through the sale of your high quality donations, supports our community; providing work experience, accommodation, food and one-to-one support for those who have experienced homelessness.
UP TO THREE BAGS OR BOXES? Between 10:00 and 11:00 when we are open, you can drop into either our Stokes Croft or Bedminster shop with your donations and use the self-service donation trolley. You’ll need to date label your bags/boxes on the day and day stickers are provided for this.
All bags of donations are quarantined for 72 hours before being placed on sale. Please do not bring loose donations as we cannot accept these at present. Instead, pop them into a bag or box that you are happy to leave.
Due to current capacity, cleaning and quarantining requirements, we may not be able to accept all the bags/boxes of goods you wish to donate. Once we have reach our capacity for the day, regrettably, we will have to turn away donations so please do make sure you drop off between 10:00 and 11:00 (11:00 and 12:00 on Tuesdays).
More than THREE BAGS or BOXES or LARGE ITEMS? Call 0117 954 0886, Option 1 or email reuse@emmausbristol.org.uk to book a convenient date and time for you to bring your donation to our warehouse (behind our Stokes Croft shop). Due to current capacity, cleaning and quarantining issues, we can only accept higher quantities of donations or large items that have been pre-booked so, to avoid being turned away, please check with us and book a slot.
Please be aware that there are restrictions on what items we can accept, whether via collection or on-site drop-off. See further down for items we cannot accept. As much as we want to accept your welcome donations of high quality goods, we may have to turn away donations once we have reached capacity for the day.
Some of the things you can bring to us:
If you are unsure as to whether your donations are suitable, call us Mon-Fri and we’ll be happy to talk you through what we can and can’t accept.
We also offer a house clearance service and you can contact us for a quote on 0117 954 0886, Option 2.
We can collect good quality, clean: clothing, books, ornaments, crockery and furniture, as well as modern electrical items in good working order. To qualify for a free-to-use collection, your donated item must be suitable for re-sale in one of our shops. Our crews will let you know on the day if they are not so that you can make alternative arrangements.
The kind of quality donated goods we can collect:
Regrettably, there will be times when we are not be able to accept suitable items because we already have too many, they are not selling or we do not have space. As always, our crew will advise of what can be accepted when they see it. We cannot ever guarantee to accept a donation.
Thank you for your gift. Last year, through the generosity of people like yourself, Emmaus saved close to 200 tonnes of unwanted furniture and household goods from going into landfill and sold £1000’s of pounds worth of goods to families at affordable prices.
These are items that we definitely cannot accept, either due to health and safety law or because we simply won’t be able to sell them on:
If you have something to donate that we cannot take, please look on Bristol Council’s website for further advice.
