We were proud to officially launch our new Outfit London Road store with a series of events and a competition to win a full pre-loved outfit last week.
Based in the heart of Brighton, Outfit London Road is the newest social enterprise run by Sussex Emmaus to generate funding to provide accommodation, support and training to people who have experienced homelessness. To celebrate the official store launch the charity we hosted a Student Day with discounts on Wednesday 24 January an evening event for press and influencers on Thursday 25 January and a dressing-up competition through to late on Friday 26 January, with attendees invited to browse a range of quality second-hand and vintage items while learning more about Emmaus.
Customers were in with the chance to win a full pre-loved outfit from the store by trying on an outfit, posting a photo on Instagram and tagging #outfitlondonroad @outfitlondonroad. The winner will receive one coat, one jumper or blouse, one pair of jeans or trousers, one pair of shoes, and one accessory.
The winner was Besma, chosen by companions at Emmaus Brighton & Hove, who are people living and working at the charity after experiencing homelessness.

Emmaus Brighton & Hove is also appealing for new volunteers who would be interested in helping in the store. Roles include sorting donations, serving customers and researching vintage items. If you are interested email [email protected]
Outfit London Road sells 100% second-hand items and all profits go to supporting the work of Emmaus Brighton & Hove in providing a home, work and support to those with experience of homelessness.
The store’s address is 71 London Rd, Brighton and Hove, Brighton BN1 4JE and opening hours are Monday – Saturday 10am – 6pm and 11am – 4pm Sundays.
