We are really looking forward to seeing you again and welcoming you back to Emmaus Bolton.

As ever, our top priority is the wellbeing of our companions, staff, volunteers, trustees, supporters and the local community. To ensure the safety of our team and all visitors, we have carried out a risk assessment for reopening and put in place measures to minimise the risk of virus transmission.

Reopening summary

  • Our Derby Barracks charity store and Café Pierre (takeaway and outdoor seating) has now reopened.
  • We are able to accept donations but you need to call to book a drop-off slot.
  • Safety measures are in place to help protect our team and all visitors.
  • Please read this update fully and follow the safety guidance at all times.

Visiting our store

Firstly, if you are showing any coronavirus symptoms or feel unwell in any way, please do not visit our charity stores. The Emmaus Bolton Derby Barracks site, home to our charity shops, café and garden centre, is now open Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, and Saturdays, 10am-4pm.

To ensure that physical distancing rules are maintained, our team are monitoring the number of people within our stores. If you are visiting as a family, please stick together and ensure that your child or children stay close at all times.

Everyone is required to wear a face covering and sanitise their hands on entry at our sanitiser stations. Please handle items as infrequently as possibly, especially those you do not intend to buy. Stick to the directional arrows around the store and ensure that you maintain at least a 2 metre distance from others at all times. A delivery service is available for larger purchases but some new controls will apply.

Cafe Pierre

We are pleased to announce that Café Pierre has reopened for a takeaway and outdoor service only. After a browse around our charity store, come and enjoy a hot or cold drink, cake, soup, snacks and other light bites.

Donations and collections

If you have been saving up good quality items to donate to our charity, massive thanks for your patience and support. We are now accepting donations again but please call us on 01204 398056 prior to visiting to book in a drop-off slot. Please be aware that there are some items that we cannot accept so please do give us a call before dropping off your donations.

Our free local collection service is back up and running too. You can book a collection over the phone by calling 01204 398056 or outside of opening hours via our online request form here.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support during this uncertain time. Now that we are able to reopen, please come and support us as we have lots of fresh stock and great value items available. This includes garden furniture and lots of spring plants and produce within our Garden Centre.
