Just before Easter we were pleased to be able donate lots of potted daffodil bulbs to two of our local schools.

Emmaus Bolton donated potted bulbs to both St Paul’s C of E Primary School and St William of York Catholic Primary School. Our companions potted and prepared the bulbs from our on-site Garden Centre. The potted bulbs were then decorated by school children and presented as gifts to older residents and teachers as part of each school’s Easter activities.

Clare Lightbown, Head Teacher at St William of York Catholic Primary School, said: “We delivered 20 pots to the elderly parishioners of Great Lever and beyond. The children wrote Easter cards too. They were very well received.

“We have developed a network of isolated elderly people with whom the children communicate with regularly. We are really grateful for the plants as it gave us another excuse to make contact with them. Let’s hope the bulbs grow into beautiful daffodils.”
