A green roof over Hampshire heads

Over 70 supporters watched Emmaus Hampshire Chair, Alison Thompson, and Leader of Winchester City Council, George Beckett, position the final sedum square on the roof of the Group's new building.

Green roofs, like the sedum roof at Emmaus Hampshire, are becoming increasingly popular because they provide excellent insulation, absorb atmospheric pollution and filter rainwater.

From Spring 2009, Emmaus Hampshire will become a home to previously homeless people who will work in the on-site furniture recycling business.
