Jerry Hall sparkles at Emmaus

Emmaus Ambassador Jerry Hall launched Christmas festivities at the South Lambeth Community yesterday, decorating a Christmas tree with 15 Nurses, 11 Police Officers, 10 Primary school teachers, 5 sets of Christmas lights, 2 town floral displays and a skateboard park. The decorations represent the saving that each Emmaus Community makes to the tax payer and shows what we could have instead with the money.

Recent Cambridge University research shows that in addition to providing an effective and lasting solution to homelessness, each Emmaus Community saves in excess of £800,000 per year.

The residents of Emmaus Communities work at the business of the Community, which is collecting and selling donated household goods. Each Community aims to become financially self supporting through this social enterprise.
