Emmaus Sheffield's Night of Honour
Emmaus Sheffield has been nominated for an award that celebrates community heroes. The prestigious award ceremony called ‘Sheffield’s Night of Honour’ takes place on 30th November.
During the evening, ten awards will be presented to people who make a positive difference to the City of Sheffield. Emmaus have been nominated in Sheffield’s Best Community Organisation category.
John Eaveson who works with South Yorkshire Housing to provide opportunities for vulnerable adults nominated Emmaus Sheffield because he was impressed by their vision; “In the short time they have been open, Emmaus Sheffield have already made a big impact. The previously homeless people who live and work there regain their self esteem, and their efforts give something positive to the city. The furniture shop and gardening service are providing an excellent community resource.”
