Teapot Triumph in Paris
Representatives from six Emmaus Communities in the UK went to Paris at the end of June to participate in Europe’s biggest flea market.
Emmaus Communities from all over the world converged on the Paris Salon with vans full of goods to sell. Everything from bikes to buckets were available on hundreds of stalls. As well as being a fundraising event, the Paris Salon provided the opportunity for people from different Emmaus Communities to meet and share experiences.
The British contingent worked flat out to keep up with the demand for their china and bric-a-brac. Teapots were the best seller with over a hundred of them snapped up by French customers eager, no doubt, for a decent brew. At the end of the day the group were shattered but triumphant having raised €5000 in aid of Emmaus International development projects.
