Details
We aim to establish an Emmaus Community in the borough of Walsall which will provide supportive Community accommodation for up to 24 homeless people at any one time, and meaningful employment.
We are looking for people with finance, legal, business, property and administrative skills and expertise to help drive the project forward.
Key activities
The roles would require people who have experience and expertise in the above professional areas to become part of the decision-making team:
- to become familiar with the principles and ethos of an Emmaus Community
- to help move the project forward to achieve the implementation of an operational Emmaus Community in Walsall.
- to provide advice, guidance and support in the areas of accountacy/business finance, legal, property or administration.
- to help lead, manage and steer the project.
- to work with key stakeholders to establish partnerships working in pursuit of the establishment of the community.
- to act in due course in the role of trustees/directors.
Time commitment
The Steering Group currently meets monthly for approximately 2 hours in the centre of Walsall. Ideally, a further half to one day per month would be required.
