Emmaus is a charity which offers previously homeless people a home, work and the chance to regain self respect in a supportive community environment. Residents work full time in a Community business, collecting, renovating and re-selling donated furniture through our Community shops. There are currently 15 Emmaus communities across the UK. We are seeking an Event Organiser to join our committee to work with us to build an Emmaus Community in Salford.

Activities
-Design one high impact event that will raise the profile of Emmaus Salford with a key audience (as discussed and agreed with the Steering Committee)
-Attend Steering Group meetings regularly to keep Emmaus Salford appraised of progress
-Source all the reqired elements of the event
-Undertake all the organisation of the event with support from the Steering Committee where available
-Provide a full de-brief after the event to the Steering Committee

Time commitment
As determined by the postholder (but probably around 6 hours per month). Also attend monthly Steering Group meetings on a Monday 1.30-3.30pm.

Further information
Experience of event planning and management would be helpful as would a knowledge of Salford. This role offers a chance to be very creative and design and organise an event that will raise the profile of Emmaus Salford.
