Emmaus is a charity which offers previously homeless people a home, work and the chance to regain self respect in a supportive community environment. Residents work full time in a Community business, collecting, renovating and re-selling donated furniture through our Community shops. There are currently 15 Emmaus communities across the UK. We are seeking a Community Liaison Officer to join our committee to work with us to build an Emmaus Community in Salford.

Activities
-Identify agencies and audiences
-Form relationships and ensure the local community feel consulted on the development of Emmaus
-Look at the ways in which the local community can work with Emmaus to establish the Emmaus project
-Present the benefits of Emmaus to local community organisations with the assisstance of members of the Steering Group responsible for awareness raising
-Advise the Steering Group on local community engagement
-Attend local community events as and when required

Requirements
Good interpersonal and motivation skills essential. Good knowledge of Salford and its communities essential.

Time commitment
Hours to suit the post-holder, minimum 5 hours a month, maximum to be defined by postholder. Also attendance at monthly Steering Group meetings - Mondays 1.30-3.30.
