Emmaus at Tendring Hundred Show
Emmaus Colchester attended the 2008 Tendring Hundred Show which was held at Lawford House Park on the 12th July. The Tendring Hundred Show is known to be Essex County's premier agricultural event, and attracts all manner of local businesses from both farming and the private and public sector. Emmaus Colchester had a large stall at the event, which publicised the charity, and displayed a selection of furniture and bric-a-brac from our shop. Trustees, volunteers and staff were involved in the day, and talked to members of the public about Emmaus, in addition to selling some items of furniture to eagle-eyed bargain hunters. The atmosphere of the Tendring showground was fantastic, and the Emmaus site was well-placed opposite the main arena, allowing a good view of the different agricultural displays which included falconry displays and sheep racing! If you missed it, we hope to be attending again next year, so please come along and enjoy the day.
