Community Staff Roles
Community staff roles (Community Leader, Deputy roles and support staff) vary depending upon the staffing structure of each Community. They may be non, partly or fully residential. They always involve working on-call duties.
Post-holders require a range of skills which can be gained from a wide variety of backgrounds. Duties vary but generally include managing the Community, being involved in the social enterprise business and providing support to Companions. Current Community staff come from a wide range of backgrounds including the homeless sector, legal services, the ambulance, police and probation services, shop managers and nursing.
The Emmaus Federation is growing throughout the UK. As more Emmaus Communities begin to come on line we have a growing need for more staff. Whatever the role, working for Emmaus can be both challenging and rewarding and is never an 'ordinary' job!
