Joining a Community
If you have read about Emmaus Community life and would like to join a Community, the next thing you need to do is decide which Community you would like to join, as each Emmaus Community deals with the admission of new Companions separately.
What Community life is like can vary depending on the size and location of the Community. You can search for Emmaus in a particular area or see a list of all Communities and Groups on our where we are page. Please note that Emmaus Groups are projects working to set up Communities and so cannot take Companions at the present time. Some Communities have additional information about how they work on their local pages of this website.
You will then need to contact the Community that you would like to join (or someone can do this on your behalf) and they will explain more about the process. The Community will need some information from you and you can also find out more about life in that individual Community. Staff at a Community can also tell you if there is a space there at the time. If not, you may have to stay in touch with the Community for some time until a room becomes available.
